Racing Fashion's Favourite moments from 2011, Oaks Day

Yes, it was Angela Menz' Year, 2011 in Racing Fashion, you owned it!  No one can dispute your win as everyone really secretly wanted you to win as everyone knows how hard you have competed for years.  I officially call 2012 year of the Hat with our High Trend Queen, Duchess Katherine, we are going to be following closely and seeing her simplistic styling and natural beauty always wearing fabulous hats.  It was such a treat for everyone to have the presence of Mr Philip Treacy who I had the pleasure to meet and chat with on several occasions which I am so grateful for.  Colour Blocking was really the treat for the season and of course no one could keep up with Angela who innovates every trend so beautifully.  Ok, leave the colour blocking in 2011 and we will take a step forward as many of us are looking back thinking yes, a bad fashion trend for some.  The biggest surprise for some was my Alfred Hitchcock moment stepping onto stage with Liza Stedman's Gum Blossom piece and I had the unique pleasure of having a good chat and sit down about Liza's passion of millinery and Australian Botanic.  Liza is a brilliant millinery with such beautiful talents.  All hats for the millinery award stood in their own league and Rebecca Share's Unique Shape took the judges eye to take 1st place.  I had many favourites on the day, and all were masterpieces in their own right.  The birdcage was buzzing with Celebrity Fever with the big await of Kim Kardashian only to be greeted with a cardboard cut out on Emirate Stakes Day, by the way, we found our own Aussie Kim on the lawns in the public that was every bit as gorgeous and stunning.  What a fantastic year, more to come from other days soon.

Angela, we were all so happy for you.  Even Lisa Tan  had tears backstage!

Rebecca Share's winning millinery,  one hat, very distinct on  every angle.

Yes, Jen is really that gorgeous and that nice, but needs bigger millinery.

Looks we loved

Even I think, some hats are too big!

Everyone loves Alexander McQueen

Best Stand and Pose.

Love that Alex and Jo both wore the same hat twice,  think recycle and if something works, it just works.  Love it!

Effie Cliff, the lady that thought she had no chance, 2nd runner up on the day.  Love it!

Watch this braiding at the front of the head, big for 2012, (prediction).

Alfred Hitchcock moment, not even the camera men knew about it!

Liza Stedman, "What on earth is Anna doing?"

Love this.

Australia's new hottest 'IT' girl, Louise Struber.  Photographers could not get enough of her.

We love our Aussie Kim Kardashian! xxxxxx
