Where on earth are you climbing to and how much $$$ do you need to be happy????

What is our ladder and where are we climbing to??? Competitiveness, yes in sport that is what the name of the game is. But exactly where does it start and end within society.
Recently in the name of Fashion, TV, and other competitive industries, I have found that people will sell out their best, (I use the term loosely) friends in order to gain social hierarchy.
I have found the truly talented recline from this society, allowing others to simply gain (I don't know what???) and stomp all over others.
I want to know what this social ladder is and why people are trying to climb it??? Where does it take you??? Sorry, but I think a road of unhappiness.
Many of my friends have such wonderful creative ideas in the fashion industry and as soon as someone thinks of an innovative way to make money, some other person decides to hop on the bandwagon and ride the gravy train.
Myself, I make no money, I do what I love.
Others, find a way to make money and then someone grabs the carpet from underneath them. This is saddening and goes to show, who can you really trust. I have the pleasure of having some wonderful friends in a new town that have embraced me for the person I am. I am blessed. Everyday I have to spend with my family and talk about the things I love, and what I cherish. I watch my children grow, I live amongst the jungle next to the sea with the man of my dreams I adore.
Everything else is just trinkets.
Choose not to climb a ladder in competition with others, but to sit and savour where you are. You are on your own journey and you don't need to compete. Recently my dad in his 70s has decided to take up extra acting work. He is no Brad Pitt, but I said, “Dad, you may just be the person they are looking for.” Who knows. You can only be your best you!
Forget the ladder and begin to look at yourself, would you sell out a friend to gain, what do you cherish more, your integrity and loyalty, or a quick chance to try and chase a spotlight!

This story is about a very good friend of mine has been put in this position and it has broken my heart.

Clever you!  You are at the top, but you did not know you were the only one climbing.

Do you know, in most cases, the bigger the 'personality, (celebrity)', the more down to earth. The smaller the 'personality, (celebrity)', the bigger the ego!

Stop chasing it, it is an illusion.  Did you ever play with a kitten and a reflection???
One of my best friends from childhood outranks almost anyone I know. Madonna rings her to play at gigs, Elton John requests her to sing, now there is no bigger than that, but you would never know.

Another friend of mine, jams with not only Australia's best, but the worlds best. He sings in a small bar and ends up jamming with the biggest names in music. How many times has Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall asked you to play at a party?
